Le graphisme, au fil des ans m’a appris l’équilibre des formes, des mots, des textes et des images dans la page.
Cependant, cette page a ses limites et le besoin est là, de les franchir pour explorer une nouvelle dimension. Le métal s’impose de lui-même, comme une évidence. Derrière cette dureté et cette froideur apparentes se cache un matériau souple, modulable, puissant. Les possibilités sont infinies, inépuisables.
Son approche un peu brutale apporte à celui ou celle qui s’y atèle une joie et une satisfaction immense.
Face à ce nouveau matériau, la quête se poursuit, cherchant l’équilibre des formes, la rencontre des pleins et des vides, du métal brut où la couleur apparaît parfois en petites touches, associé, ponctuellement à la pierre où à d’autres matériau
Statement
In Papua New Guinea, when we venture out of cities and marked roads, nature is offered to us. The tribes welcome us to the villages, putting on their ceremonial outfits made of shells, seeds, feathers, teeth, herbs and fibers that over time, the inhabitants have learned to transform into jewelry, adornments, clothes, or everyday objects. Fascinated by this know-how and creativity, by the profusion of what nature offers us, I also wanted to assemble, weave, regroup, divert or revisit this wealth offered and made available to me, either by harvesting myself or by discovering these different materials on local markets. It is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, observation, learning, exchanges, with the artists and artisans of the country.
